Volunteers become certified through the following three-step process:<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Volunteer Application Process<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>If you have not yet completed and submitted your volunteer application with the names of two references, and completed and *submitted the supplemental volunteer application form, contact 4-H staff at your county\u2019s Extension office for assistance before proceeding.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Volunteer Training<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Once the application process is complete, discuss with county staff the training option that works better for you:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/extension.umaine.edu\/4h\/volunteers\/how-do-i-become-a-volunteer\/\">Online training<\/a>: Four modules, 30 minutes each, at your convenience; or<\/li>\n<li>On-site training: Contact your <a href=\"https:\/\/extension.umaine.edu\/county-offices\/\">local UMaine Extension office<\/a> for more information on in-person volunteer training.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Volunteer Enrollment Packet<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>When the application and training processes are completed, you\u2019re ready to complete and submit the following <a href=\"https:\/\/extension.umaine.edu\/4h\/volunteers\/forms\/\">forms<\/a>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Volunteer Enrollment Form: <a href=\"https:\/\/extension.umaine.edu\/4h\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/38\/2018\/09\/volenroll.doc\">Word<\/a> | <a href=\"https:\/\/extension.umaine.edu\/4h\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/38\/2018\/09\/volenroll.pdf\">PDF<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/extension.umaine.edu\/register\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2016\/09\/Permission-Photo.doc\">4-H (Photo, etc.) Release Form (Word)<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Volunteer Standards of Behavior: <a href=\"https:\/\/extension.umaine.edu\/4h\/resource\/volunteer-standards-of-behavior-form\/\" rel=\"\">PDF<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Assurance of Non-Discrimination: <a href=\"https:\/\/extension.umaine.edu\/plugged-in\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/80\/2011\/07\/Nondiscrimination-2018.docx\">Word<\/a> | <a href=\"https:\/\/extension.umaine.edu\/plugged-in\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/80\/2011\/07\/Nondiscrimination-2018.pdf\">PDF<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>*Submit completed forms to your county Extension office <strong>except<\/strong> the supplemental volunteer application.
