If you have specific questions, please read the FAQ to see if that question has been raised already.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>The forms are downloadable and printable:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>The GAP certification verifies the farm\u2019s adherence to the Food and Drug Administration\u2019s \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.fda.gov\/Food\/GuidanceRegulation\/GuidanceDocumentsRegulatoryInformation\/ProducePlantProducts\/ucm064574.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Guide to Minimize Microbial Food Safety Hazards for Fresh Fruits and Vegetables<\/a>.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>The most current USDA Good Agricultural Practices &amp; Good Handling Practices <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ams.usda.gov\/AMSv1.0\/GAPGHPAuditVerificationProgram#P51_2571\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Audit Verification Checklist<\/a>.<br \/>\nThe USDA GAP audit has several parts. All must pass the General Questions and then move onto whichever part or parts are required. Most will have to pass Part 1, Part 2 and Part 4 in addition to the General Questions. You need to know exactly what is required in your situation.<\/li>\n<li>This is an overview article adapted from an article that appeared in the March 2007 issue of SPUDLINES 45(1):4-6 <a href=\"http:\/\/extension.umaine.edu\/potatoes\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/49\/2011\/12\/GAP-informational-article.pdf\">GAP informational article (PDF)<\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>A contract agreement must be signed before participation in the GAP program:<\/strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/extension.umaine.edu\/potatoes\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/49\/2011\/12\/FPB-625-Exhibit-A.pdf\">GAP Agreement (PDF)<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There are self-audits for each section. If you can\u2019t pass the self-audits, you will likely not pass the actual audit. There are documentation files for each section. Required documentation is detailed. The generic Farm Food Safety Program is designed for Part 1, Part 2, and Part 4, in addition to the General Questions.
