Program Description

Thursday, March 11: Organic Certification Process for Compost Usage — Dr. Caleb Goossen, MOFGA. Dr. Goossen will address issues concerning compost certification for use in Organically Certified production systems.

Tuesday, March 23: Is carcass composting the right decision? — Dr. Krishona Martinson, Equine Extension Specialist, University of Minnesota. Dr. Martinson’s team conducted a national survey of equine owners and veterinarians about equine carcass composting.  The results are eye-opening.

Tuesday, March 30: Composting Hemp Residual — Mark King, Environmental Specialist Maine Department of Environmental Protection and Maine Compost Team. Mr. King will discuss observations from a recent pilot compost project and regulations for compost operations.
