In this blended learning sanitation course, consisting of pre-work videos and knowledge assessments and a live three-hour Zoom workshop, you will learn the essentials of food processing sanitation. Topics covered include Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures, choosing the correct Sanitizers and Cleaners, sanitation application, Pest Management Programs, Record Keeping, and Implementing SSOPs in your facility/Kitchen.

Who should attend:  QC staff, QC directors, kitchen managers/operators, plant managers, line workers.

The 3-hour virtual workshop, held on May 21, 2021, will require pre-work prior to attending. Pre-work consists of approximately 2 hours of videos (15 short videos) and knowledge assessments in the Brightspace Learning Management System. The videos and knowledge assessments will be available approximately 3 weeks prior to the workshop and you will be emailed with Brightspace account information. You complete this pre-work prior to attending the live workshop. Completion of this course and one short assignment qualifies you for level one of the University of Maine Food Safety Micro-credential.
