Military Program Packing List

For all on-site Military Program teens: (Coastal STEM Challenge, Air Force STEM Program)

Notes for all participants:  Cabin storage is limited, please pack efficiently ~ Please remember to label all clothing & belongings, you may also want to include a list of the items brought to camp.

*For those flying in, we can supply sleeping bags to avoid the difficulty (& extra cost) of getting one to camp!

  • Warm sleeping bag or sheets and blankets (cabins can get cold at night – even in summer)*
  • Pillow
  • 2 Long pants
  • 2 Short pants
  • 1 Long-sleeved shirt (at least)
  • 5 short-sleeved shirts
  • 5 underwear and socks
  • 1 Towel
  • Swimsuit
  • Hat with visor
  • 1 sweater or sweatshirt (fleece)
  • Waterproof raincoat (no ponchos)
  • Toiletries (soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc)
  • 2 pair footwear (sneakers, etc)
  • sandals for getting wet (no flip-flops)
  • Bug repellent
  • Sunscreen
  • Daypack
  • Flashlight/headlamp with extra batteries (we have a battery charger!)
  • Water bottle (reusable plastic beverage containers are great)
  • small journal and pencil

If your camper takes any medications, pack enough medication to last the entire camp session.  ALL items should be in their original packaging, bottle or container that identifies the prescribing physician (if prescription drug), the name of the medication, the dosage and the frequency of administration.

Optional Items:

  • Compass
  • Camera and film (digital is okay)
  • fly fishing gear (must be kept with camp staff)
  • hiking boots
  • rubber boots or old sneakers
  • stationery, stamps, envelopes, pen and/or pencil
  • pajamas
  • bag for dirty clothes
  • favorite stuffed animal for sleeping

Please avoid bringing:

* You may bring money and phone/electronic devices for use while traveling as they may need to purchase snacks or meals while traveling.  Upon arrival at camp, participants will go through a registration process where all medications (prescription and over the counter) as well as money and phones/electronics will be labeled and turned into the health center for safe keeping. These items will be returned upon check out prior to departure.
