Coastal STEM Challenge
Dates: June 23-28 or June 30-July 5, 2019 – 6 days and 5 nights
Base Camp: Tanglewood 4-H Camp, Lincolnville
Ages: 14 to 17
Archery, ocean exploration, canoeing, rock climbing, and engineering… they’re all part of an exciting week of camp on the coast of Maine.
Participants in Coastal STEM Challenge will face physical and mental challenges as they build connections between team building and engineering design processes during this fun, week-long program.
STEM Challenge starts with team challenges and simple bridge building then ramps up each day as participants rotate between STEM lab and outdoor adventures. Working in groups, participants will discover the fun in engineering through constructing solar cars, robots, rock climbing with Equinox Guiding Service, canoeing, archery, and more!
We’ll take adventures to local lakes for canoeing and spend a day at the beach exploring tide pools and sand flats. On the final night everyone will join in for a camp-wide campfire to celebrate the week.
Number of participants: 30 per session
Cost: $25 registration fee
