Base Camp: Blueberry Cove Camp, Tenants Harbor

Learn skills in boating, navigation and water safety as you discover the magical world of the Maine coast. Each morning participants hop in a canoe and paddle away from their island campsite to explore the coves, islands and inlets of Tenants Harbor. While exploring, participants discover an aquamarine quarry perfect for a refreshing swim, remote sand beaches and lots of marine wildlife!
On the final evening, participants enjoy a seaside lobster bake on shores of the island. Making new friends, learning about marine ecology, cooperative living and low impact island camping are all essential ingredients of this awesome adventure.

Travel information for families arriving from out-of-state:
A shuttle will pick participants up from the Portland International Jetway. Please arrange for travel to arrive at the airport between 10AM and 2PM on the first day of camp and to depart after 12PM on the final day of the camp program.
A stipend of $250 per participant is included in the grant to help reimburse families for travel costs.
