Ducktrap Exploration, Ages 11-13

campers canoeing on Pitcher PondFrom the mountains to the sea, this trip includes all the wonders of life on the coast of Maine. Campers will spend time out on the trail, in boats, and around camp.

Explore the forests, mountains, ponds, river, and sea on this hiking and canoeing trip through the Ducktrap Wildlife Preserve. This is our most popular trip to observe wildlife and learn wilderness skills.

Along their journey from river to ocean, campers learn the skills necessary to travel lightly with the least impact and to find their way through forests without a trail.

Campers will spend time in and out of camp. They will have opportunities to participate in small group learning and traditional large “all camp” games. Some meals will be served in the camp dining hall whereas others will be cooked over the fire or camp stove out on the trail.

Ducktrap Exploration is the perfect trip for those youth wanting to experiment with wilderness camping without being too much in the wilderness!
