SUMMARY:4-H Craft Night
DESCRIPTION:Join Waldo County 4-H for a 4-H craft night! We will have a variety of craft supplies and stations set up for youth to do a craft of their choosing. Crafts include\, but are not limited to\, barn quilt painting\, flower printing\, knitting\, and bracelet making. Participants are welcome to submit their crafts to the Union Fair 4-H Exhibition hall and staff will have entry forms available on site.\n\nCome to the Waldo County Extension office to meet new friends\, learn about 4-H\, and try a new craft! SUMMARY:Integrated Disease and Weed Management in Christmas Tree Production
DESCRIPTION:Join us at Quinn’s Tree Farm in Cornville for an introduction to integrated pest management in Christmas tree production. Participants will learn how to apply crop protectants using backpack sprayers safely and efficiently. Participants will also learn about the life cycles of common needle cast pathogens in Maine and how to manage these diseases. In the final presentation of the day participants will learn about IPM strategies for both broadleaf and grass weeds that commonly impact Christmas tree production. \nWhen: Friday\, June 14\, 2024 \nTime: 3-6:30 p.m. \nLocation: Quinn’s Tree Farm\, 290 West Ridge Road\, Cornville\, Maine 04976 \nCost: $15 \nParticipants can earn 3 pesticide credits. \nRegister here
