Ken and Joyce Getchell of Roque Bluffs will receive the Norman W. Duzen Community Service Award for their volunteer efforts with the We Care Baby Center.  This award is presented annually to individuals who have contributed as a volunteer to the lives of Washington County citizens. The award’s namesake, Norman Duzen, was a dedicated civic and religious leader for over fifty years and had a great love for the people of Down East Maine.

The University of Maine Volunteer Pen Award is given to individuals who have made outstanding contributions in one program area of the University of Maine Cooperative Extension. In 2020, this award is being presented to Lee Downing of Machiasport for her support of UMaine Extension 4-H program, Richard East of Calais and Wendy Harrington of Addison for their time and contributions to the Washington County Extension Association.

The 4-H Tech Changemakers will give a presentation.  4-H teens involved with this project will share a short overview of their three-year project that is utilizing technology to help address food insecurity.

The meeting is open to the public. For more information, contact the Extension office, 207.255.3345 or 800.287.1542 (toll-free in Maine).
