DESCRIPTION:Solar Eclipse Coming to Maine! On April 8th\, 2024 Maine will experience a full solar eclipse. This is a once in a lifetime experience for Maine folks. A total solar eclipse occurs when the Sun\, Moon and Earth are in a direct line. It is visible from only certain locations on earth during a solar eclipse when the center of the Moon’s shadow hits the earth\, the sky goes dark and we can experience changes in a short amount of time (temperature\, sounds\, etc.). Join us to learn the science behind this phenomenon. We’ll do hands-on experiments to help us understand and even learn how we can help NASA scientists collect data from Maine! \nRegister by March 1st\, so supplies can be mailed to attendees’ homes. \nWho: Youth ages 9+\nPresented by Gabby B. and Sarah S.  \nWhen: Thursdays\, 4:00-5:00\, March 21 through April 11\, 2024. Solar eclipse is Monday\, April 8th around 3:00 pm \nWhere: Sessions will be held via Zoom.
