{"id":1280,"date":"2012-03-13T14:35:49","date_gmt":"2012-03-13T18:35:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/extension.umaine.edu\/washington\/?p=1280"},"modified":"2012-03-13T14:35:49","modified_gmt":"2012-03-13T18:35:49","slug":"volunteers-to-be-honored-by-extension-association-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/extension.umaine.edu\/washington\/2012\/03\/13\/volunteers-to-be-honored-by-extension-association-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Volunteers to be Honored by Extension Association"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><span style=\"font-size: medium\"><strong><\/strong>The 2012 Washington County Extension Association Annual Meeting\u00a0will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. at the Pembroke Elementary School.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: medium\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium\"><strong>Ann and Bill Sawtelle<\/strong> of Dennysville will receive the Norman W. Duzen Community Service Award.\u00a0 Ann and Bill have worked tirelessly for many years to create a center of community, based out of the Whiting food pantry. They have raised thousands of dollars to support the Food Pantry where over 350 people in the Whiting, Lubec, Dennysville and Edmunds communities are fed. Under their leadership, the food pantry has developed opportunities for training, education and socialization.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium\">The University of Maine Pen Awards will be presented to<strong> Susan Ward<\/strong> of the Pembroke Elementary School for her contributions to the Eat Well Nutrition Program and healthy food choices at the Pembroke Elementary School cafeteria over the past years. <strong>Patty Wilbur<\/strong> of Cherryfield will be honored for her many years of support of 4-H club work in her area of the county. <strong>Ed Browne<\/strong> of Dennysville will receive a Pen Award for his commitment to the Washington County Senior Companion Program and being a wonderful advocate for the program. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium\">The evening program will feature nutrition displays and presentations by the students of the Pembroke Elementary School.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium\">There will be\u00a0a potluck supper. Please bring a dish to pass.
