<\/a>4-H Tech Changemakers Help Distribute Fresh Fruits and Vegetables<\/strong><\/p>\n

On November 14th, the 4-H Tech Changemakers helped unload and set up tables of delicious fruits and vegetables at Washington Academy.  The complimentary produce was given away to all who wanted it.  Special thanks to The Good Shepherd Food Bank and Healthy Acadia. We look forward to monthly “produce pick-ups.” Special thanks to Mr. Woody, a staff member from Washington Academy who will help us coordinate the project!<\/p>\n

<\/a>Apples, Apples, and More Apples for the Cobscook Currents 4-H Club<\/strong><\/p>\n

At the November meeting of the Cobscook Currents 4-H Club, members peeled and sliced 25 pounds of apples to make apple crisp that was donated to the Community Meal in Lubec!  Members also collected non-perishable food items for the Lubec Community Outreach Project!  Wonderful job Cobscook Currents!<\/p>\n

<\/a>Family Code Night with the Hour of Code Coming in January
\n<\/strong>Family Code Night is a whole-family event at which kids grades K-5 and their parents do their first hour of computer programming \u2013 together! At this special evening of learning and fun, you\u2019ll play in parent-child teams to complete fun Code.org puzzles and challenges at your own pace, and learn core concepts in coding in this very first hour. No coding experience needed, laptops available if needed. This is a great experience to share with your kids!<\/p>\n

  2. 4-H Science Saturdays are Returning in 2020!
    \n<\/strong>Thanks to the generous support of the Maine 4-H Foundation, we will be offering opportunities for middle\/early high school-aged youth to visit the UMaine campus for targeted science or engineering experiences!  Science Saturday programs run from 10 AM – 1:30 PM, and include time for youth to engage in hands-on activities with professors and current UMaine students, as well as time for lunch in a UMaine dining hall!  We need your input!  What topics should we offer?  Please let us know by     filling out the survey here.<\/a>  <\/li>\n
  3. 4-H Statewide Teen Dance Seeks Planning Committee Members<\/strong>
    \nThere is a small group of 4-H members who would like to plan a statewide formal dance for teen 4-H members across the state.   4. Winter Becoming an Outdoor Woman Program<\/strong>
    \nThe 2019 Winter Becoming an Outdoor Woman program will be held on February 21 \u2013 23, 2020<\/strong>at Bryant Pond 4-H Camp and Learning Center, 17 Conservation Lane, Bryant Pond ME 04219 in Oxford County.<\/strong> This fun weekend is geared towards women seeking new ways to get outdoors, meet new friends, and challenge themselves. All meals and lodging are provided and space is limited to 36 participants.
