Boots and Buckles

The Boots and Buckles members showed their sheep at Ossipee Valley Fair.<\/p>\n

Four Leaf Clover Club<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The Four Leaf Clover Club has been getting ready for their 100-year celebration. Club members have also been putting finishing touches on their exhibits for Acton Fair.<\/p>\n

Lucky Charms<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The Lucky Charms had members enter some great exhibits at the Ossipee Valley Fair! We also had several members attend the Maine 4-H days; it was a great time! Our focus now is the Acton Fair! We\u2019re working hard on exhibits, presentations, and our parade float! Hope we see you there!<\/p>\n

Kidding Around<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Kidding Around has been getting ready for the Fair. We are working on our Float and our One-theme Exhibit. Kidding Around will be opening the food booth from 4:00-7:00 PM on Wednesday night of the fair serving chile and chop suey.<\/p>\n

Nature Kids<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The Nature Kids worked on a project recently that involved bench construction and installation at the town forest.<\/p>\n

York County Shepherds<\/strong><\/h4>\n

York County Shepherds have been getting their projects ready for Acton Fair. Members recently showed their sheep at Ossipee Valley Fair.<\/p>\n

Year 2017 – 2018<\/h3>\n

York County 4-H Program \u201cDates and Facts to Remember\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

4-H is age 5-18<\/strong>. 4-H Age is determined by December 31st.<\/em> On December 31st<\/sup> your age is what you will be in the new year. In most cases you must be 9 years old to show a large animal project. For 4-H trips you must be 4-H age of 14. Cloverbuds are aged 5-8\/Junior members are age 9-11\/Intermediate members are age 12-14\/Senior members are age 15-18.<\/p>\n

The 4-H program year is October 1 to September 30.<\/strong> This was traditionally set up years ago to follow the agricultural fair schedule. Our two County Fairs are: Ossipee Valley Fair in July and the Acton Fair in August.<\/p>\n

August 23-26, 2018:<\/strong> Acton Fair<\/p>\n

September 10, 2018: <\/strong>4-H Leaders Meeting, 7:00 PM at the UMaine Extension York County office<\/p>\n

September 15, 2018:<\/strong> 4-H Bus Trip to Eastern States<\/p>\n

September 2018<\/strong>: Eastern States \u201cThe Big E\u201d Fair<\/p>\n

September 30 – October 7, 2018<\/strong>: Fryeburg Fair<\/p>\n
