4-H Club News<\/strong><\/h2>\n

14 Clubs located all over York County! We have a New Club!<\/span> Club news contains news that the clubs have shared with the office!<\/p>\n

Kidding Around<\/h3>\n

Kidding Around\u00a04<\/span>–H<\/span>\u00a0Club\u2019s March meeting theme was Pot Luck and Pets.\u00a0 Each family brought their favorite snack or dessert to share and each member\"\"\u00a0brought an animal to share.\u00a0 We had guinea pigs, bunnies, a turtle and a lizard.<\/p>\n

NEW CLUB!!<\/span> York County 4H Outdoor Sports Club<\/h3>\n

The York County 4H Outdoor Sports Club held our first meeting at the York County Fish and Game lodge on April 28th<\/sup>.\u00a0 The group welcomed new members, learned about 4H basics, project books and gun safety before learning how to shoot pellet rifles.\u00a0 Next month we will be doing pellet shooting and archery.\u00a0 New members are always welcome!\u00a0 We meet on the\u00a04<\/span>th<\/sup>\u00a0Sunday of every month from 1pm to 4pm at the York County Fish and Game lodge on route 35 in Lyman.\u00a0 Please contact Patrice at 207.636.6085 if you would like more information.<\/p>\n

York County Shepherds<\/h3>\n
At there last meeting we visited the Runs With Wolves Sanctuary.\u00a0 George was acting President and did an amazing job getting the group together.<\/div>\n
The club learned each wolve’s story and learned a bit about non profit agencies and how they work. Our club made a cash donation along with items such as toys, cleaning supplies and treats!<\/div>\n
We are planning a farm visit for the May meeting and learning about the health of each animal and practicing good habits for bio-security.<\/div>\n
\n

York County Beef Club<\/h3>\n

Looked at ways to make various Dairy Products. Abigail demonstrated how to make “Farm Cheese,” Kiley demonstrated how to make Butter and Karlee demonstrated making Ice Cream. We made sure everyone’s approval forms were in on time and discussed what to do with money raised with their Fundraiser. Looking forward to a field trip to Arethusa Dairy Farm in Connecticut.<\/p>\n

The DOG club held a rabbit and cavy education demo at tractor supply in Scarborough the day before Easter.\u00a0\"\"<\/p>\n

Barn Friends Forever<\/h3>\n
The BFFs have been busy with springtime chores. \u00a0Members with animals have been putting up fences and seeding pastures. \u00a0All members worked creatively on T-shirt\u2019s and we tried them on for the first time at a pizza party!<\/div>\n
Outings and community help ideas are in planning stages. Everyone is looking forward to summer.<\/div>\n

Nature Kids<\/h3>\n

Nature Kids have had a great spring. We have started preparing for the upcoming fair and announced new officers. We also made pictures\/drawings of why plastic bags should be banned to share at a South Berwick town meeting. One thing that was really fun was our April Vacation workshop day where everyone did STEM experiments. It was cool to see what other people learned about!<\/p>\n
