Nature Kids \u2013 Leader Jackie Lipsky<\/h4>\n

This month the Nature Kids had a guest from Maine Health named Casey. She talked to the club about Healthy Eating, Active Living\"Kids & the \u201cLet\u2019s Go! 5-2-1-0\u201d program:<\/p>\n

5<\/strong> – or more fruits and vegetables<\/p>\n

2<\/strong> – hours or less of recreational screen time<\/p>\n

1<\/strong> – hour or more of physical activity<\/p>\n

0<\/strong> – sugary drinks, more water<\/p>\n

She also talked to us about staying hydrated and the color of our urine<\/em><\/strong>! If your urine is all most clear then you are doing a good job drinking water, but\u00a0if your urine is yellow or darker then you need to keep drinking!\u00a0 Casey also told the club about My Plate <\/strong>and that half of our plate should be fruits and veggie.<\/p>\n

One of the favorite parts of our meeting was using a blender bike to make smoothies!\u00a0 We each got to choose our ingredients for our smoothie and blend them using a stationary bicycle that had a blender attached.\u00a0 Not only did we get a tasty and healthy snack but we got our exercise making it!\u00a0 Thanks Casey!<\/p>\n

Pollinator Protectors \u2013 Leader Carolyn Reece<\/h4>\n

Pollinator Protectors successfully held their first fundraiser at Eldridge Limber in Sanford. The club did a fantastic job with public speaking in sharing \u201csales pitches\u201d for products available in the store for purchase witch support increasing pollinators to yard and garden spaces. Next month the club will be completing a service project of planting a pollination garden at a local farm.<\/p>\n

York County Beef Club \u2013 Leaders Ann Boucher, Diane Qualey<\/h4>\n

Held the 3rd Science Experiment Extravaganza of the year. We had 11 presenters.<\/p>\n

Always bring the York County 4-H embossed paper copies of your approval forms with you to the fair if you are showing animals. No Approval form is needed for rabbits\/cavies and chickens.<\/p>\n
