Event: Harvesting and Food Safety
When: Tue, Aug 31 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm
Description: Many home gardeners loose a significant portion of their crops to
improper harvesting, storage, or handling practices. It is estimated
that as many as 76 million people in the U.S. contract some type of
foodborne illness each year. Careful harvesting and processing
procedures can result in higher yields, a reduction in microbial
health risks, and prolonged post-harvest shelf life. Join Dr. David
Handley as he provides information that will help you make the most of
your garden’s bounty. Refreshments will be served.
