Scavenger Hunt: Are You Up to the Challenge?
When you register for the conference, you’ll have the opportunity to choose to participate in our Goosechase scavenger hunt!
What is Goosechase?
Goosechase is a versatile platform that allows conference attendees to participate in digital scavenger hunts using smartphones. It’s interactive and gamified nature makes it an excellent tool for participant engagement and educational purposes.
The Goosechase app is free for team members to use and can be downloaded through your smartphone (instructions will be sent to team participants the week before the conference). We are in the process of creating a digital scavenger hunt that we hope will be engaging, educational and fun!
What are “Missions”?
The missions are part of the hunt – they will be set in two forms: you’ll either be completing missions by typing in text or by taking and uploading a photo or video.
The locations will be local and/or historical (to the Portland, ME area) – and yes, some missions may require getting out for a walk and getting some fresh Maine air!
The missions are set to encourage teamwork, so dig deep, have fun, take risks, be adventurous and, ultimately, discover (or re-discover) a little bit about the NECV conference, your colleagues, and Maine!
I Don’t Have a Phone. Can I Still Participate?
You won’t necessarily need a smartphone to play. You’ll be placed within a team so if you work together with your team members on missions, you’ll have the same opportunity to win a prize if your team scores the most points.
How Are Teams Being Formed?
When you register for the conference, you will have the option to agree to be on a team. Teams of five or six members will then be created for the event.
When Will I Hear More About the Chase?
You’ll receive an email a week before the conference starts with instructions, your team’s name and a list of team members you’ll be working with to accomplish missions.
