Building Water Features to Attract Wildlife

June 1, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

| Free

Presented by – Tom & Jan McIntyre – Master Gardener Volunteers.

Encouraging wildlife to come to your yard requires four essential elements:  cover, space, and most importantly, food and water.  Many of us put food out for the birds, but neglect to realize that water is just as essential.  Water can be provided in a variety of ways and moving water, either dripping or flowing, will be the most attractive to wildlife.  Master Gardeners Jan and Tom McIntyre have created a garden oasis for wildlife, so much so that it is Certified Wildlife Habitat by the National Wildlife Federation. Come to their workshop to learn how to attract wildlife by making your own dripper fountain that can be used whether you live in a condo or have a large plot of land.  Do you have a wet area in your yard?  Learn from their trials and tribulations in creating a successful wildlife pond.  Anyone can create a certified backyard habitat and they will guide you through the process.  The birds and the bees will thank you.
