Kids ages 5 and up are invited to a special program about the solar eclipse on Saturday, March 30 at 10 am in the library’s Howard Room. Carla Schocchi and Leah McCluskey, staff from 4-H, will share information about solar eclipses, along with guiding participants to create miniature models of a solar eclipse using foam balls and wire. Everyone will also get eclipse glasses to take home! On April 8, 2024, parts of Maine will experience a total solar eclipse, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! A total solar eclipse happens when the moon lies exactly between the sun and the Earth, casting its shadow on a small patch of the Earth’s surface.
This program is made possible through support from NASA’s Science Activation program through the Learning Ecosystems Northeast partnership. If you have any questions, contact Youth Services Librarian Claire Malina at claire.malina@bhpl.net or call 374-5515.
