Eclipse Exploration at the Ellsworth Public Library

March 15 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Kids ages 5 and up are invited to a special program about the solar eclipse on Friday, March 15 at 2 pm in the library’s Riverview Room.  Leah McCluskey, staff from 4-H, will share information about solar eclipses, along with guiding participants to create miniature models of a solar eclipse using foam balls and wire.  Everyone will also get eclipse glasses to take home!  On April 8, 2024, parts of Maine will experience a total solar eclipse, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! A total solar eclipse happens when the moon lies exactly between the sun and the Earth, casting its shadow on a small patch of the Earth’s surface.

This program is made possible through support from NASA’s Science Activation program through the Learning Ecosystems Northeast partnership.  If you have any questions, contact Youth Services Librarian Keli Gancos at or call (207) 667-6363
