Seeking Donations to Cover the Cost of Team Jackets for the Eastern States Exposition 4-H Communications Science Team

Eastern States Exposition 4-H Communication Science Team members are raising funds for team jackets and the statewide educational program. The team jackets will be worn by our members as they represent Maine at the Eastern States Exposition in Springfield, MA, from September 22 to 24. I hope you have been able to see our 4-H members as they present their demonstrations and illustrated talks at state and county tournaments.
We were very excited that we had a record number of participants in the 2018 State Public Speaking Tournament. The ten top presenters at the state competition who are age 12 or older have been invited to participate on the Eastern States Exposition 4-H Communication Science Team, and will present a variety of demonstrations, illustrated talks, audience participation activities, and readers’ theater presentations on the stage at the New England Center throughout their time at the fair.
Public speaking is a very important life skill. Many 4-H alumni say that public speaking is the most important skill they have taken from their 4-H experience into adulthood.
Our goal is $450 this year to cover the cost of team jackets. Every donation counts and our 4-H members certainly appreciate your generosity. 100% of your donation will go directly to the Eastern States Exposition 4-H Communications Science Team.
