2020 4-H Summer Programming

Thanks for a great summer! Learn more about the impact of the 4-H Summer Learning Series in 2020.

University of Maine Cooperative Extension 4-H launched a new, innovative series of summer learning programs for youth during the summer of 2020. 85 unique workshops were offered throughout the summer, ranging in topics from squid dissection to citizen science to leadership development. Sessions were attended by 127 youth, with most participating in at least three workshops, coordinated by a team of 35 staff and 28 volunteers. Youth, families, and staff representing every county in Maine were involved in this series. The virtual program reduced barriers and allowed for participants, presenters, and staff to collaborate in ways not typically so easily accessible.

The 4-H Summer Learning Series was made possible by the generous support from the Maine 4-H Foundation.
