Ellen Mallory’s research and outreach programs focus on grain, pulse, and oilseed production (both organic and conventional), the use of organic amendments like manure and green manures for crop fertility, and factors affecting crop uptake of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). As well, Ellen offers professional development programs for agricultural service providers in various aspects of sustainable agriculture. She is the Maine State Coordinator for the USDA Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE) program. She has a joint appointment the UMaine School of Food and Agriculture.
