Carla serves as the 4-H Youth Development Professional for aquaculture, providing statewide leadership for hands-on programs that connect young people with Maine’s aquaculture industry, marine science, and food systems. Her work focuses on experiential learning that helps youth build practical skills, confidence, and curiosity through positive youth development.

She develops and supports 4-H aquaculture education programs, collaborates with University of Maine faculty and research partners, builds community partnerships, supports volunteers, and uses educational technology to expand access to aquaculture learning opportunities – especially for youth who may not otherwise have them.
