Daniel is an agronomist with extensive experience conducting field-based research on a range of topics, including bioenergy crops, nutrient management, remote sensing, and the evaluation of ecosystem services such as greenhouse gas emissions, soil water quality, and soil health. His current focus is to develop and lead research and educational outreach efforts that address the short- and long-term needs of farmers and agricultural stakeholders impacted by PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) contamination. This includes exploring practical management and mitigation strategies. Daniel also works on forage crops and cereal grains, supporting the development of sustainable and resilient cropping systems.
