Ellen Mallory’s research and outreach programs focus on grain, pulse, and oilseed production, both organic and conventional, for local food and beverage markets, and on the use of organic amendments like manure, compost, and green manures for crop fertility. As well, Ellen offers professional development programs for agricultural service providers in various aspects of sustainable agriculture. She is the Maine State Coordinator for the USDA Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE) program. Ellen also serves on the board of directors of the Maine Sustainable Agriculture Society and Maine Grain Alliance, and is an active member of the Maine Climate and Agriculture Network. She has a joint appointment the UMaine School of Food and Agriculture.
