Invasive Plant Workshop

September 9 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

University of Maine Cooperative Extension, in partnership with the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), Maine Natural Areas Program (MNAP), and Maine Forest Service (MFS), will offer an Invasive Plant Educational Workshop on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, from 10 a.m.–4 p.m. at Andy’s Agway/Cole Farm Maple, 13 Cole Farm Road, Dayton.

This workshop will emphasize invasive plant concerns for maple producers and will include both classroom instruction and hands-on fieldwork. Participants will explore invasive plant biology, ecological effects, identification techniques, and key management principles. Experts from UMaine Extension and partner organizations will lead the sessions.

The cost to attend is $30 per person, which includes a copy of the Maine Invasive Plants Field Guide. Participation is limited to 20 people to ensure an engaging, hands-on experience. Outdoor sessions will be held rain or shine, so participants are encouraged to dress accordingly. Pesticide credits are anticipated.

Registration is required and will close on September 2, 2025. Visit the program webpage to register online. For questions, future workshop inquiries or to request reasonable accommodation, contact Nick Rowley at 207.778.4650 or nicholas.rowley@maine.edu.
