Message from our Directors

Dear families,

We are excited to announce that Maine’s 4-H Camps will open this summer! We have appreciated your patience throughout these challenging times and, although our programs will look a bit different this summer, we are committed to our mission of providing high-quality, affordable outdoor camp programs for youth from Maine and beyond.

In the last year, we have received countless questions from parents about what modifications we are making to our programs due to COVID-19. We have also heard loud and clear that your children want to be at 4-H Camp! We agree that children and youth need healthy socialization and outdoor experiences more than ever after the stresses of the past year. We are happy to say we plan to open all of Maine’s 4-H Camps following all relevant guidance from the University of Maine System and the state and federal Centers for Disease Control. Our top priority is the health and safety of our campers, staff, families, and our local communities. Program format, calendar, and enrollment will vary from camp to camp so please be sure to check the website of the 4-H Camp you hope to attend.

Along with the leadership of the University of Maine System, we are continuing to monitor the latest guidelines and policies from civil authorities, so program plans and schedules are subject to change. For more detailed information please see our 2021 4-H Camps’ COVID Plans Page.
