In this program prospective and beginning, small-scale meat and egg producers will gain a general understanding of what it takes to have poultry. This program will be lead by Dr. Colt Knight, UMaine Extension Livestock Specialist.
Topics will include poultry breeds
- and nutrition.
Also, there will be a demonstration of various waterers and lighting options along with ideas for your do-it-yourself poultry equipment.
An optional coursebook “Storey’s Guide to Raising Chickens”, can be ordered for $20 before the meeting.
