Community Central – #TrueLeader Highlight

4H teen leader Mohammed PortlandThe Community Central program is very fortunate to be able to work with many high school students who have committed to the role of Teen Leader.

These teens work with Community Central staff on the planning and delivery of STEM-based lessons, games, and family activities.

This week, we are highlighting teen leader Mohammed, from Portland. Mohammed volunteered for the recent 4-H@UMaine Weekend: Connecting Kids to Campus, held in Orono.

“My journey with the 4-H club over the past three years has been an amazing journey. It was full of beneficial, fun, and interesting experiences where I learn how to be a leader and an outstanding person. Not to mention, all the fun activities that I have done with my friends during that time I spend in the 4-H club, such as the shooting club and the science clubs. Add to that the trips that were full of joy and happiness…”

Community Central teen leaders at Boston Harbor“…especially the last trip to the University of Maine at Orono where I participated as a chaperone [and] had the opportunity to work with other students from other places around Maine and practice the leadership skills that I have learned during the past years.”

A big thank you to Mohammed for volunteering for the weekend and being a #TrueLeaderMaine.
