UMaine Extension offers workshop on preserving strawberry jam

Falmouth, Maine – University of Maine Cooperative Extension will offer a workshop on making strawberry jam on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, from 5:30–8 p.m. at the Cumberland County Extension Office, 75 Clearwater Drive, Falmouth.

Making Your Own Strawberry Jam covers how to prepare and preserve strawberry jam, including methods for using less sugar. The instructor will teach safe preservation techniques for strawberries using both the boiling water bath canning method and freezing. Participants will receive recipes and a jar of homemade jam. Please bring a potholder with you to class.
