Homemade food gifts can offer a personal way to celebrate the holiday season. University of Maine Cooperative Extension will offer More Gifts from the Kitchen Demonstration from 3 to 4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9, at Lithgow Public Library in Augusta.

UMaine Extension Food Systems Professional Kate McCarty and Master Food Preserver Volunteer Kevin Dawson will demonstrate cost-effective ideas for making holiday food gifts. Topics will include food safety when giving food as gifts and ways to use Maine foods in preserved foods and soup and baking mixes. Participants will receive samples of demonstrated recipes.

No previous experience is required. No registration is required.
