Expedition 1: Peru

Quelccaya Ice Cap and Nevado Osjollo Anante

In March and April 2015, University of Maine research students Charles Rodda and Kit Hamley traveled to Peru to collect snow and ice from glaciers high in the Andes of Southern Peru. They were looking for evidence of changes that occurred in the atmosphere during major climate events hundreds of years ago. The information they collected is being used to understand changes happening today.
