Expedition 5: Educator Resources
Climate Interactive has the materials and instructions to conduct the world climate simulation! Anna and Will may be able to come to your school (in Maine) after the expedition and conduct this simulation with your students!
This blog shows how to run the climate simulation with youth as young as 7 – 8 years old!
We understand that the climate simulations may not be possible for all teachers to run with their students. Here are some sites with additional activities that may be easier to conduct in the classroom:
- US EPA Students Guide to Global Climate Change: This site has some online resources and lots of information!
- NASA also has a climate page for kids. This site includes ideas for kids to reduce their carbon footprint.
- Older youth may be interested in the research at the University of Maine Climate Change Institute.
The National Science Teachers Association webpage on weather and climate. At the bottom of the page are links to still MORE resources!
If you’ve found a resource that works for you and your students, please share it! Email information to UMaineFAR@maine.edu.
