How can I prevent animals from burrowing into my raised beds again this summer?

Question:

Last summer, I planted two raised gardens with green beans and flowers. Some type of animal burrowed into the ground and up into my beds, and disrupted several plants, and even moved some dirt out under and onto the lawn. What can I do to prevent this from happening again?

I’m sorry to hear about the damage that took place in your garden last year. Without specifics it’s tough to say who the culprit was. The wildlife biologists at USDA Animal Plant Health Inspection Service welcome you to reach out to them so they can help you troubleshoot the issue and hopefully avoid further damage this season.
