The mission of this project is get middle school students involved in and learning about growing food. We have a partnership with the Windham-Raymond School District to supply the cafeteria staff with fresh vegetables during the fall season from outside garden and we also provide spinach & lettuce grown in the greenhouse during the winter months. We hold an after school gardening club for six weeks in the spring and six weeks in the fall. Spring they spend time prepping garden and greenhouse for the summer crop, planting seedlings and watering as needed. Fall club finishes harvesting, putting outside garden to bed for winter and prepping greenhouse for the winter crop. They also help put the flower gardens to bed for winter if we have extra time. 5th & 6th grade Science classes help with the watering and harvesting for the greenhouse crop during school year.
