Saint Dunstan’s Creation Garden, Ellsworth

Address: Ellsworth, Maine

Saint Dunstan’s Creation Garden is a public demonstration garden on the grounds of Saint Dunstan?s Church on State Street.  Its purpose is to promote biodiversity as a teaching garden to help teach townspeople learn about doing their own native gardens at home. The garden provides habitat for a wide variety of insects and other wildlife, using native plantings and other functional ornamentals.  A separate small kitchen garden provides produce for the Everybody Eats program that provides free community meals.   Master Gardener Volunteers plant, cultivate, irrigate, weed, and lead tours of the gardens.  MGVs meet as a group from 8-12 on Tuesdays, or individually according to their own schedule.
