Washington Academy garden is a decade long collaborative effort between Washington Academy, UMaine Cooperative Extension and Healthy Acadia to grow food for local food pantries. Between 2023 and 2025, WA completed a 24×40 foot greenhouse structure to extend the growing season and has two AmeriCorps members serving to connect students to the garden via a daily gardening class. Most of the harvest goes directly to local pantries.
