Practical Research-Based Resources for Maple Producers of All Scales

University of Maine Cooperative Extension supports maple syrup producers of all sizes with practical, research-based resources. From backyard operations to commercial production, UMaine Extension’s Maple Production Program helps improve sustainability, efficiency, quality, and safety.

Promoting Quality, Increasing Profit

Designed for maple producers, bulk syrup buyers, state inspectors, and contest judges, this school combines maple grading science with hands-on training. Participants gain the skills to accurately grade syrup, evaluate quality, and judge maple products. Since 2004, over 200 attendees have improved their grading knowledge while increasing profits, boosting sales, or reducing costs.
