University of Maine Cooperative Extension Forage Educator, Dr. Jaime Garzon will give a talk titled “Legumes as cover crops: Cover and nitrogen to the soil”. During this presentation Dr. Garzon will report partial results of nitrogen fixation and cover of different varieties of alfalfa, clovers, and birdsfoot trefoil, as a product of the 2024 Maine Legume Trial. Additionally, University of Maine Cooperative Extension Sustainable Agriculture Educator, Brett Johnson will give a talk titled “Balsam gall midge: Scouting and timing of insecticide applications”. Registration is required and pesticide applicator credits will be available.
