Beginning Beekeeping program
DEXTER, ME— Beginning Beekeeping is the latest program in the You Can series. It will be held Monday, March 5th from 7:00 pm- 8:00 pm at Dexter Regional High School in Dexter. Cost is $10 and you can register through PVAEC by calling 564-6525 or online at http://bit.ly/pyoucan.
What does it take to keep bees? This informative workshop will focus on the equipment and basic information needed for the honeybee and the hive. We’ll review a calendar of beekeeping activities during the year and problem areas to be aware of. Learn how to obtain bees and beekeeping equipment. Leigh Wiley has been keeping bees since 1974 and currently has 30 hives.
Even though times are tough, YOU CAN sustain your family. The Piscataquis Valley Adult Education Cooperative and the University of Maine Cooperative Extension have put together a series of workshops that will give you the skills to get started in self-sufficiency.
