The University of Maine Cooperative Extension 4-H program will offer 4-H Adventures in Health Science to students ages 12 to 18. The program offers youth the opportunity to learn about careers in the field of health care through direct interaction with medical professionals who practice in Piscataquis County.

Tour of the Hospital

Day 2. My Heart to Greater Loyalty:
The Art of Empathic Listening
Cardiovascular System with Dissection

Day 3. My Hands to Larger Service
Hands-Only CPR and Stop the Bleed Review
Ambulance Tour and The Purpose Driven Life of an EMS Worker
Importance of Hand Washing and Breaking the Chain of Infection

Day 4. My Health to Better Living
Health & Nutrition
Let’s Put the “Zoom” in Zumba
TikTok – Finding, Removing & Identifying Ticks

Day 5 & 6. Learning About Different Jobs In Healthcare
Physical Therapy
Registered Respiratory Therapist
