Eat Well Program Aide I position available

Hourly Wage:  $11.11

Description:

Full-time, regular position, 40 hours per week, 5 days per week.  Daily work hours are Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with some night and weekend work required. Positions are contingent on funding.  The University of Maine Cooperative Extension is seeking a Program Aide I for the Eat Well Nutrition Education Program to work with income-eligible individuals and groups in Piscatiquis County. Employee conducts food and nutrition education programs, travels to homes or other sites to work with individuals, families, adults and youth. Employee keeps records and maintains client files, records daily activities, and submits reports on a regular basis. Ability to travel in Maine and reliable transportation is required. Mileage reimbursed at $0.44 per mile.

Qualifications:

 A high school diploma or equivalent; teaching or outreach education experience; familiarity with recruiting techniques; basic computer and data entry skills; strong organizational skills; the ability to communicate and work well with a diverse population in a variety of settings; self-motivation; knowledge and/or experience in nutrition education and/or food budgeting; and ability to work independently required.  Appropriate background checks will be required.
