As tick-borne diseases continue to increase across New England, a study in Vermont is looking into the significance of the risk to farmers.
Cheryl Sullivan, a research assistant professor and entomologist with the University of Vermont, said farms in her state may be prime locations for tick prevalence, increasing the risk of illnesses caused by the pest.
Vermont already has some of the highest incidences of Lyme disease cases among states, but most of the focus is on homeowners.
