Old Fashioned Club: Makers

A Gathering Focusing on Learning about the past, Trying out ‘Old Fashioned’ ways, Dressing up (optional) and Friendships

What: A small weekly gathering of families (parents included). Our time will start with group gathering, poetry, read aloud and discussion. We will then break into two different handicraft experiences for the first two weeks. The third week will be an old fashioned tea party. Come wearing old fashioned apparel each week or let us know if you would like to borrow.

Who: Designed for curious 4-Hers ages 5-18. Enrolled 4-Hers will be offered sign ups prior to the general public. All sign ups will go directly through the 4-H website. Space is limited to 20 youth and their families. The first 5 families to register after the 20 slots have been filled will be added to a wait list. 

Where: First three meetings will take place at the Lipsky Family’s 1880s homestead in Wells (address will be provided prior to first meeting). The last meeting on October 22nd will be at the Colonel Wentworth House in Rollinsford, NH during the Market Fair and Militia Muster. Families are responsible for their own entrance fee, which is usually $5 for adults and free for children.

When: Saturdays in October 10am

NOTE: Space is limited. Families are encouraged to look at their calendar to ensure they are available to attend all four session. If you are not able to consistently attend this month, please leave the slot open for a family who is able.  There will be more opportunities next month!

Why: To learn, create, connect and serve (we plan on making old fashioned craft kits to put in the free bin at the library).
