Extension 4-H Science Center to host open house featuring touch tank and hands-on experiments
Orono, Maine — University of Maine Cooperative Extension will host a Fall Open House at the Lafayette and Rawcliffe 4-H Science and Engineering Learning Center on Saturday, October 11, from 10 a.m.–1 p.m. The event will take place at 491 College Ave., Orono.
This free public event will introduce youth and families to UMaine Extension’s 4-H programs. Participants can tour the learning center, meet staff and engage in science-themed activities, including hands-on experiments, seaweed squishies, our touch tank, tissue paper painting and 4-H toolkit demonstrations. Information about joining local 4-H clubs and youth programs will be available. Attendees, youth and adults, are encouraged to come in costume to celebrate the changing season.
