Ecosystems Matters

The Ecosystems Matters toolkit provides materials to do the activities from the  Ecosystem Matters Activity and Resource Guide for Environmental Educators, U.S. Forestry curriculum (PDF) geared towards grades 3-5. Activities include an introduction to ecosystems, carrying capacity, discovering habitats, indicator species, natural resources, and how we use them and more. In addition, some materials from the Earth’s Capacity page, (National 4-H curriculum) are also included to discover local ecosystems and practice scientific observations, but these do require outside observation access for some of the lessons.
