Crop Insurance Deadline Nears in Maine for Spring Planted Crops, Micro Farm, and Whole-Farm Revenue Protection

The USDA’s Risk Management Agency (RMA) reminds Maine corn, forage seeding, fresh market sweet corn, green pea, hemp, potato, soybean, spring barley, spring oats, and spring wheat growers that the final date to apply for crop insurance coverage for the 2023 crop year is March 15. Growers also have until March 15 to apply for coverage under the Whole-Farm Revenue Protection policy, including Micro Farm coverage. Current policyholders who wish to make changes to their existing policies also have until March 15 to do so.
