How It Works

The Midcoast Sustainable Ag Committee is a volunteer advisory group tasked with gathering, prioritizing, and presenting the ongoing educational and technical needs of commercial agricultural producers in Waldo, Knox, and Lincoln counties.

  • two farmers talking in a fieldNo legal or financial duties
  • No elected officers
  • Meets twice yearly (fall and winter)
  • Helps plan community conversations, spring program, and summer field tours
  • Members serve one-year terms, renewable for up to five years, with a one-year break before rejoining

What We Deliver

Community Conversations

Hosted at local libraries and grange halls, these drop-in events provide space to socialize, share information, and connect with other farmers.

Spring Program and Summer Field Tours

Each fall and winter, the committee collaborates with the University of Maine Cooperative Extension to identify needs and design spring programming and field tours for the coming year.
